At Calor, we are passionate about innovation and empowering our teams to drive business success. As a Business Accountant, you will play a crucial role in partnering with our central support functions, delivering financial insights, and influencing key decisions. If you're a proactive and analytical finance professional looking to make a real impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing the financial performance of our central support functions, working closely with senior leadership to provide strategic financial guidance. You’ll be instrumental in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting forecasting processes, and identifying opportunities for operational and financial improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a finance business partner, providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Prepare, review, and communicate financial statements, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and clarity for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process and control improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct variance analysis, investigate key trends, and drive corrective actions.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide financial challenge and support to senior leaders.
  • Participate in finance and business initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Actively pursuing their financial qualifications and eager to progress towards full accreditation (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Progressive and ambitious, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in financial or management accounting roles and a proven track record of working their way up within a business.
  • Commercially minded, with significant business partnering experience, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and non-finance teams to provide valuable financial insights and drive decision-making.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide meaningful, actionable insights to influence business performance.
  • Experience with Excel and financial systems, some systems we use: SAP S4 HANA and SAP BPC, if you have experience with these even better.
  • Full UK Driving License

What We Offer

  • Private Medical Insurance: Ensuring you and your health come first.
  • Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays for a great work-life balance.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme: Support for a healthier, eco-friendly commute.
  • Life Assurance: 4x your salary for peace of mind.
  • Pension Contributions: Matched at 4.5%, rising to 7.5% after 2 years of service.
