The Opportunity

Based at our Silverwater, location we are seeking an individual to join our team to serve our customer base. Your day-to-day tasks will include multi-stop pickups and deliveries of bins and sharps collectors along an assigned daily run. You will be responsible for loading and unloading the truck, scanning products as delivered and collected, and liaising with our customers. This role includes elements of heavy lifting both in transit as well as at our facility.

Due to the nature of this work, evidence of currency of vaccination or the willingness to receive defined vaccinations is essential. This will include Covid (2 shots minimum), Flu Shot, Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B.

As part of closing the gender gap of drivers in the waste management industry, Cleanaway is running a Driver Academy for Women to address substantive equality for female identifying or non-binary persons in the industry by removing some of the barriers preventing them from getting involved. Cleanaway is seeking an individual to participate in an intensive training program which includes licencing and other training required to set you up to be a HR licenced truck driver, followed by ongoing learning for the next 12 months.

Paid 5-week training program will include:

• Obtain Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR)
• Uniforms and PPE

• In cab coaching
• Practical driver training
• Buddy driver program

To be part of the program

• Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence for a minimum of 24 months
• Driving History Check with a minimum of 8 demerit points remaining
• No heavy vehicle driving experience required
