The Opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join our team based in Whyalla.

Guided by our Values, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and scheduling the day-to-day operations of driver runs and the weekly work schedule.
  • Lead and conduct Toolbox meetings, and ensure all pre-start, post-checks, and minor day-to-day maintenance tasks are carried out on all equipment
  • Monitor team training compliance.
  • Monitor and report on all IVMS (In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems) infractions.
  • Consulting with line management in the development and management of operational targets.
  • Lead a high level of customer service within the team and with our internal and external stakeholders, investigate and resolve service issues.
  • Managing and preparing detailed reports on labour efficiencies and overall cost management.
  • Delivery of a Safety First “Home Safe” message across all scopes of work, by regularly conducting Time In Field Assessments, regular review of all Safe Work Method Statements, Work Instructions and Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Safety Conversation reviewing the team's behaviours in the field. Showing genuine care.
  • Training compliance ensures that the team has received training for their respective roles.
  • Conducting the 1st Line of defense audit, ensuring safety measures are in place.
  • Incident reporting by the shift end. Trained in MEIL.

About you

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role, leading productive teams and driving a safety-first culture.  
  • Exposure to and knowledge of comprehensive safety management systems.
  • Knowledge of HSE and environmental legislation and ability to work independently.
  • Sound computer knowledge, including Intermediate Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to respond to internal and external stakeholders' calls out of hours when required.
