The Opportunity
Join a high-performing team and play a key role in elevating environmental safety, compliance, and risk management at our Kwinana Packaged waste site. This is a hands-on leadership position supporting critical operations while driving continuous improvement across environmental and HSE performance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead environmental risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Develop and enhance standards and critical controls for environmental and HSE risks.
- Drive the environmental component of EPA licence amendment applications, variations, and works approvals.
- Support HSE strategy and local execution plans.
- Oversee internal inspections, audit schedules, and contribute to external audit activities.
- Manage environmental monitoring programs for sitespecific requirements.
- Coordinate and track training programs aligned with organisational values and risk priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to eight chemists.
About You
You’re a proactive problem solver with strong chemical technical capabilities and a natural ability to build relationships across operational environments. You bring:
- A qualification in chemistry, science, or a related field.
- Experience in landfill, gas, hazardous liquids, stormwater, or similar environmental domains.
- Background in highrisk heavy industry.
- Practical experience in environmental management.
- Demonstrated incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
- Competence in developing and implementing safe work practices.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Leadership capability with proven coaching and mentoring experience.
