The Opportunity
As Logistics Manager, you will lead transport operations at a critical facility supporting major hospitals and healthcare providers. This site plays a vital role in our national healthcare waste management network.
You will be supported by two experienced Transport Supervisors who report directly to you, along with a capable site-based team, enabling you to focus on operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage two Transport Supervisors, providing direction, coaching, and performance support.
- Manage fleet safety and allocation, overseeing daily transport operations including driver and vehicle scheduling, fatigue management, and compliance with statutory and permit requirements.
- Optimise fleet utilisation through effective route planning, scheduling, and delivery coordination.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport performance, efficiency, and safety.
- Build and lead a high‑performing, safety‑focused transport team while monitoring and achieving operational KPIs and performance targets.
About You
You are an experienced transport leader with a strong operational mindset and a passion for driving performance and improvement within complex logistics environments.
- Proven experience in transport operations within a management or supervisory role, with strong scheduling and planning capability.
- Demonstrated experience in route optimisation and improving fleet efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data to identify trends and implement effective solutions.
- A hands-on leader with a track record of coaching and developing teams, driving change, and managing performance.
- Tech-savvy, with experience using Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, GPS and fleet management systems; exposure to In‑Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS) is highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of legislative, compliance, and safety requirements within transport operations.
- Open-minded and improvement-driven, with a proactive approach to identifying better ways of working.
