Treasury Assistant Accountant

Kick-start your career in Treasury with a business that will invest in your growth.

Are you a recently qualified or part-qualified Accountant looking for your next challenge? Do you have experience in accounting and a keen interest in treasury, leasing or corporate finance? If you're ambitious, eager to learn and looking for a role where you can develop into a Treasury professional, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a high-performing finance team where you'll gain exposure to treasury operations, leasing, financial reporting, insurance and cash management, while working closely with experienced finance leaders who are committed to your development.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, you'll provide accounting and administrative support across the Group's Treasury and Insurance functions while also partnering with the wider Financial Reporting team. This is a broad, hands-on role that offers genuine career progression and exposure to areas of finance that are highly sought after.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the management of banking facilities, transactional banking and daily cash management activities.
  • Assist with treasury reporting, covenant monitoring, financial analysis and regulatory reporting.
  • Help maintain compliance with Treasury and Insurance policies, controls and governance frameworks.
  • Support the procurement and accounting of leased assets.
  • Maintain lease liability and right-of-use asset registers, preparing monthly journals, reconciliations and reporting in accordance with AASB 16.
  • Assist with reconciliations across treasury and insurance assets including corporate loans, guarantees, general ledger balances and insurance claims.
  • Support the management of the Group's cash and debt facilities.
  • Utilise Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and other finance systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to finance projects, system improvements and business integration initiatives.
  • Prepare treasury journals, reconciliations and audit support documentation.
  • Assist with budget, forecast and external audit processes.

About You

We're looking for someone who is genuinely hungry to build a long-term career in finance. You don't need extensive treasury experience—we're looking for potential, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

You'll ideally bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce.
  • CA or CPA studies underway (or the intention to commence).
  • Experience in a finance or assistant accountant position.
  • Exposure to lease accounting or asset leasing (highly regarded).
  • A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel and systems skills with the ability to quickly learn new finance platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and build strong relationships across the business.
  • A proactive mindset with a desire to continuously improve processes.

Why Join Us?

This is more than just an Assistant Accountant role—it's an opportunity to develop specialist treasury skills that will set you apart in your finance career.

You'll enjoy:

  • Genuine career development and mentoring from experienced Treasury professionals.
  • Exposure to corporate finance, treasury, leasing and financial risk management.
  • A collaborative and supportive finance team.
  • A varied role with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
  • The chance to make a real impact while building a rewarding long-term career.

If you're a motivated junior accountant ready to take the next step and develop into a future Treasury professional, we'd love to hear from you.
