The Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a successful liquid and materials waste processing site, with genuine autonomy, accountability, and purpose. You will step into a key leadership role overseeing operations, with a strong mandate to drive safety excellence, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.

Your ability to lead high-performing teams, supported by strong commercial acumen and experience in complex industrial operations, will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance through proactive initiatives, robust systems, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure effective performance management, talent development, and succession planning to drive engagement, capability, and retention across operational teams.
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Finance teams to enhance data integrity, optimise processes, and support strategic market growth.
  • Oversee the operational and financial performance of the site including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Monitor and manage operational expenses, implementing efficiency and cost‑reduction programs that increase profitability while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

 

About You

You are an inspired, solutions‑focused operational leader with a proven record of managing complex industrial operations. You balance day‑to‑day site leadership with a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring high levels of team engagement, compliance, safety and customer satisfaction.

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong operational management experience in liquid, material and hazardous waste collection or manufacturing or logistics operations.
  • Solid financial and commercial capability, including branch‑level P&L management and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • A proactive mindset, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a successful track record of implementing practical and effective operational improvements.
  • Hold a suitable qualification in chemistry, engineering, or equivalent experience in a heavy industrial operational or manufacturing environment.
