Job Summary: The Systems Engineer III provides effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and administration of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Provides advanced level systems engineering and administration to support the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide and mission-critical University systems under minimal supervision.

Serves as a senior technician to provide advanced level systems engineering and administration to support the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide and mission-critical University systems.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and two (2) years of system engineering or administration experience, or advanced technical work experience in devops development; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of system engineering or administration experience, or advanced technical work experience in devops development; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of IT experience to include four (4) years of system engineering or administration, or advanced technical work in devops development; OR high school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of IT experience to include four (4) years of system engineering or administration, or advanced technical work in devops development.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing or administering Active Directory, Exchange and O365. Experience supporting Azure or other cloud services. Experience using PowerShell or other scripted tools. Experience installing and configuring servers in a controlled data center environment. Demonstrated experience working in a systems engineering environment including cloud services, backup/storage management, clustered servers, performance tuning, and application/database/web server hosted environments.
Current professional certification such as Microsoft Certified System Administrator, Apple Certified Systems Administrator or equivalent experience. Experience in a higher education or corporate research environment.
