Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Systems Engineer I supports the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission critical University and non-critical systems by performing systems engineering and administration under moderate supervision.


Additional Department Summary: Provides technical and applications support for all computer-related functions in the assigned area. Plans, implements, upgrades, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains servers for the division. Installs, designs, builds, and upgrades applications, software, and hardware accessories. Coordinates hardware and software purchasing. Initiates, coordinates, and implements the technology goals for the division. Provides direct assistance to constituents in the area and serves as the trainer or training coordinator for all relevant technology in the division. Creates and manages relational databases and the integration of databases with web pages.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or information technology. Four (4) years of Active Directory, Powershell, SharePoint, Jira, Microsoft PowerApps, or SQL Server experience. Experience with design management and maintenance of server computer/technical support systems.
