University Laboratory Safety Manager - 524979
The University Laboratory Safety Manager develops written documents and materials addressing and detailing chemical hazards, incompatibilities, and health effects. Trains faculty, staff, and students on these topics. Assists principal investigators (PI) and researchers in the development of standard operating procedures specific to their spaces, and/or as they relate to standard lab operations and experimental procedures. Works with labs to identify needs and gaps within the laboratory safety programs and works to address those needs. Research Computing Library Specialist - 524992
The Research Computing Library Specialist leads a team of undergraduate Data and Informatics Student Assistants that support faculty and students with computational related research including teaching coding workshops, developing tutorials (computational notebooks, blogs, videos, etc.), and assisting researchers with custom scripts for programmatic acquisition of information, data manipulation, data analysis, data visualization, and high-performance computing. Trains student programmers. Monitors student goals and projects. Assists with student led workshops. Provides code reviews and feedback on student developer projects. Assists faculty and students with individual computing projects. Maintains the University Libraries computational related online projects and workshop repositories.

The University of Alabama School of Social Work seeks an innovative leader who can connect a large programmatic vision while maintaining a detail-level focus that supports and enhances the student experience to serve as Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. This position is a 12-month faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (tenured) or Professor (tenured) to begin July 1, 2025. High priority experience areas include behavioral health, asset or strengths-based community approaches, and poverty and health disparities, but candidates with scholarship expertise in other areas are also encouraged to apply. The committee will strongly consider all areas that complement current faculty research and/or needs of the State of Alabama. The position requires a Ph.D. in Social Work or a closely related discipline, with at least three years of leadership experience. An MSW, with minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience, is preferred. The expected start date is July 1, 2025. This is not a remote position.
