The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary initiative focused on U–Th dating of fossil corals. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to advance coral-based chronologies and enhance our understanding of Quaternary sea-level variability through high-precision geochronology.
The successful candidate will be based in the Corals, Caves & Chronologies Lab at UF and will conduct geochemical research on fossil corals. Core responsibilities include the preparation of samples in ultra-clean laboratory, isotopic analyses using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS), data reduction, and U–Th age calculation. The postdoctoral researcher will also integrate coral U–Th chronologies with sea-level datasets, contribute to manuscript development, and participate in proposal preparation for future research.
This position offers opportunities to mentor undergraduate students and engage in collaborative projects addressing geochemical and sedimentary processes within coral reef systems

| Required Qualifications: |
- Ph.D. in geochemistry, Earth sciences, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with U–Th dating, isotope geochemistry, and mass spectrometry.
- Proven ability to work in ultra-clean laboratory environments.
- Strong quantitative, data analysis, and scientific writing skills.
- Commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary research.
