Environmental Student Assistant Fairbanks
This is a job pool that could be used to fill different positions within the environmental community partnership (ECP) based on the department’s needs and applicant interest. Possible areas of work could be environmental compliance (air quality, water quality, spills, tanks, hazardous waste, landfill monitoring), natural resource management, cultural resource management, and NEPA. Actual job duties will vary depending on the student's assigned work area. Job duties could include collecting and recording data, data entry, GIS data collection and analysis, cartography, inspecting tanks and emission units, collecting water or soil samples, general office work. Possible field work during inclement weather, walking through rough terrains. Travel to field sites via helicopter, fixed wing planes ATV/UTVs or boats is possible. Other duties as assigned. The position is located at the environmental building on Ft. Wainwright. Field work is also on base and on other army training lands around the interior.
