Job description:

This is an opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative team to ensure fortnightly pays and entitlements are made in accordance with legislation and that all relevant documentation is received into HR. As a member of the Human Resources Branch, you will undertake payroll functions for the Department and provide authoritative advice to internal and external clients in relation to relevant employment legislation and departmental policies. This is an exciting time to join Treasury and the Tasmanian State Service as we embark on a digital transformation journey within our Human Resource functions.

About You

You will be a motivated individual with a strong understanding of payroll practices within the context of Human Resource management. Your interpersonal skills and client-focus will support you to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders across Treasury.

Your attention to detail and organisational skills are strengths which support you to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will have experience using payroll software such as Chris21 and exposure to interpreting legislation.

About the Branch

The Human Resources branch develops and embeds contemporary people and culture practices and provides payroll and recruitment services for Treasury. HR provides high-level consultancy advice on complex strategic HR issues and partners with stakeholders to deliver a responsive, high quality and seamless service.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.

Period of Appointment

This is a fixed term appointment for a period of 6 months.

Desirable Requirements

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
