Responsible for the overall administration and operation of conference housing, summer camps, and guest housing for Housing & Residence Life (HRL). This position reports to Director for Business Operations & Guest Services.

Salary Grade:  14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties

1. Develop a business plan for conference services
2. Supervise full-time/part-time staff in the operation of a year-round conference
housing operation including staff training; coordinate summer conferences with
entire building staff; coordinate on-call policies and procedures; relate information to guests
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key campus partners associated with
conference services and guest housing
4. Work with HRL Facilities & Maintenance team to determine summer conference use needs for conference locations and Butler Guest Housing as needed
5. Execute conference service contracts and procedures that align with HRL,
university, state, and federal laws, policies and procedures
6. Establish rates and financial goals conferences and guest services in consolidation with HRL Business Operations
7. Determine staffing plan required to meet the conference and guest housing goals
8. Coordinate marketing materials for conference groups and individual guests.
9. Prepare periodic and annual department reports including strategic plan, occupancy use, assessments, goal setting/outcomes related to the departmental, Division of
Student Affairs, and the University
10. Participate and chair on departmental, division, and university committees
11. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related area
5 years progressive experience in college student housing

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in higher education, college student development, or Business Administration

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Supervision of full-time & student staff
2. Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills
3. Knowledgeable and practices skills related to sales, contracting, resource allocation and management
4. Proficient knowledge of computer applications ( e.g., Microsoft suite)

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
2. Must be able to walk stairs
