Position Title:  AFFILIATE FACULTY OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS - COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY INNOVATION (CECI)

Summary: Educational Foundations seeks one affiliate faculty, full-time, 9-month non-tenure track position, specializing in the social foundations of education. We are seeking an innovative educator who is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who teach in this program.  This position will start August 6, 2024.

Required Qualifications and Education:

• Master’s degree in the social foundations of education or closely related field (e.g., Urban Education, Cultural Studies, etc.)
• Evidence of a minimum of three (3) years experience with Pk-12 educational settings
• Demonstrated potential for teaching effectiveness in the social foundations of education
• Commitment to contribute to the Educational Foundations program
• Demonstrated commitment (through past, ongoing, and/or anticipated activities) to diversity, equity, inclusion, including the ability to interact with others with respect, empathy, and cultural humility

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Experience with or demonstrated understanding of culturally relevant/sustaining pedagogies and/or sexual orientation and gender identity in educational contexts
• Ph. D., Ed. D., or ABD (with an expected graduation date in 2024) in the social foundations of education or a closely related field

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

• Engage in teaching and ongoing development of educational foundations courses for both pre-service teachers and graduate candidates/practicing teachers
• Teach baseline 12 credit hour (4 classes) teaching load per semester, on the Allendale and/or Pew Campus, using various modalities of instruction including: traditional, online synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid, and distance learning technologies as well as deliver courses on weekends
• Advise students at the undergraduate level
• Participate actively in the life of the department
