About us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.

The role
The Rocks is a unique and vibrant heritage precinct, and this role is all about keeping it thriving. You'll manage a diverse mix of retail and public assets, ensuring they perform at their best while maintaining the character and appeal of the area. From overseeing tenancy agreements to working closely with outsourced property and facilities teams, you’ll make sure everything runs smoothly, meets compliance, and delivers great experiences for visitors, tenants, and stakeholders alike.

Balancing heritage values with commercial success, you’ll develop leasing strategies, optimise asset performance, and drive initiatives to reduce vacancies and increase revenue. You'll also stay on top of market trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain the precinct’s appeal while achieving strong financial outcomes.
