EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.

About the Opportunity
Join EnergyCo at a pivotal time in NSW’s energy transition and play a key role in delivering some of the state’s most significant renewable energy and transmission infrastructure projects. As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you’ll act as the critical link between Finance and the business, partnering with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into financial roadmaps through budgeting, forecasting, analysis and performance reporting. Working in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple concurrent projects, you'll provide valuable insights into performance, risks and opportunities, support month-end activities and collaborate closely with Financial Control and other Finance Business Partners across capital and funding. This is an outstanding opportunity to influence decision-making and contribute to projects that will shape NSW’s energy future.

Noting for Newcastle based candidates that Wednesdays will be the anchor day for the team in the Sydney office and in-office attendance is required.

About You
You are a commercially minded finance professional with strong experience in business partnering, budgeting and forecasting within large, complex organisations. Comfortable working with budgets and expenditure portfolios in the $250m-$500m+ range, you bring a strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, exceptional analytical capability and the ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful insights for non-financial stakeholders and senior leaders.

You are a confident communicator who builds trusted relationships across the business and thrives in collaborative environments. Equally comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team, you can navigate competing priorities in a dynamic setting while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and outcomes. NSW Government experience viewed favourably but not essential.

Essential Requirements

• Degree qualification in Commerce or Business, and membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Charter Accountants Australia New Zealand.

Who we are?
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
