Overview:
Have you ever wanted to make your own TV show? The AMC is looking for creative student leaders to develop and execute shows for the university’s award-winning, student-run TV station. A student Producer is the key team leader for each and every show on RMU-TV: from news - RMU Live and RMU Focus to Sports Talk in the Burgh and RMU Tonight, or even your own idea for a brand new show! Alongside an Associate Producer and crew, student Producers work with staff and industry mentors to deliver their programs to audiences on and off campus - making sure projects are completed on time and in budget.

Producers tend to the day to day operation of their respective shows, aggregate and write content for the shows, build the show run down, and times the show during broadcast. Producers arrange interviews and outside necessary equipment, manage all crew positions (paid and volunteer) and assign any rotating volunteer positions for each show, ensuring that all crew members responsibilities have been fulfilled. The Producer is responsible for delivering their show across distribution platforms (Comcast, streaming, and highlights to Sentry Media) and providing timely show notes to the General Manager and AMC Director. Finally, the Producer proposes and submits shows to the AMC Director for award consideration. Producers must be familiar with the AMC Student Media Handbook, upholding RMU and department policies to ensure access to experiential media learning for all members of the RMU community. All paid AMC student personnel must work at least five hours on designated non-show AMC projects or outside productions per semester and attend at least one AMC skills development workshop. One hour a month will be reserved for required staff meetings. Training programs and special projects will be assigned as necessary. Student colleagues will be responsible for covering the hours they have agreed to work.
