Reporting to the Chief Wellness Officer, and integral to the Wellness Team leadership, the Assistant Director for Esports & Innovative Programs will lead all aspects of the University’s large and growing esports program, including, but not limited to, planning practices, game/event preparation, in-game coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, team travel, academic monitoring, fundraising, streaming, video production, marketing, player/team supervision, and hiring, training, and management of part-time staff. In addition, the Assistant Director will be responsible for leading and/or supporting the design and delivery of various creative programs aimed at expanding participation and increasing collaboration among departments within the Wellness Team and throughout the University. Candidates must have applicable experience in leading others, managing organized programs, and strong familiarity with a wide range of competitive gaming titles including but not limited to League of Legends, Overwatch, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, and Valorant. This position works on-site in the University’s Esports suite, and requires a mix of structured and flexible work hours, including some nights and weekends as necessitated by program activities. Occasional travel may be necessary to support off-campus competitions.
