Overview:
RMU's Department of English and Media Arts department is looking for an instructor to teach one creative writing course as a part of our English major and Creative Writing certificate. Faculty should assist students in creating or adding written work to their portfolio and should also assist students in finding and submitting their creating work to literary journals, blogs, poetry collections, websites, written series, etc....
Responsibilities:
ENGL3020: Creative Writing: This course introduces students to creative writing in a workshop setting. Students produce original pieces of poetry, short fiction, song lyrics, and/or drama. Students critique their own and peers' pieces, use revision and editing techniques, share their pieces in small and large groups, and discuss ways in which creative writing may be taught and shared with others. Additionally, students submit at least one piece for publication. This course emphasizes both oral performance of original works and effective reading as a source for original work.
Minimum Qualifications:
MA in English with substantial creative publications. MA/MFA in Creative Writing preferred.

Experience: Demonstrated engagement with the publishing ecosystem (creative publications,
publishing, editing, querying for publication and agents, readings and self-promotion).

Publications: Experience with publishing in journals, presses (small and traditional) in at least
two of the following genres: fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction.
