Staff in this professional position are responsible for carrying out recruitment, selection, and enrollment strategies directed by senior leadership within the Office of Admissions. Qualifications will include strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, flexibility regarding assigned duties, and a commitment to working with both internal and external constituents that support annual recruitment priorities and goals. This position is a Grade: 8-40 with an approximate salary range of $46,180-$55,420 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications

1. Management of a designated domestic recruitment market, cultivation of relationships with external constituents such as prospective high school students, guidance counselors, local alumni, and representatives from community-based organizations.

•Create an annual travel plan (fall semester) of 4-8 weeks in length to an assigned domestic recruitment market, including 4-5 daily visits to both public and private high schools to interact with prospective students and guidance counselors regarding key institutional signatures.
•Create opportunities to engage with community-based organizations within the designated domestic recruitment market.
•Arrange and coordinate off-campus interviews with prospective students.
•Coordinate follow-up communications with prospective students and counselors in order to cultivate strong relationships with Lehigh University.
•Collect, analyze, and report on data from assigned region's travel.

2. Evaluation of admissions applications from both first-year and transfer students.

•Read and evaluate applications for admission based on a holistic rubric that factors a number of academic and non-academic variables, applying institutional values and goals.
•Understand and interpret a variety of high school (first-year) and college level (transfer) grading systems according to school profiles, in relation to academic strengths and potential for success in a rigorous college environment. This includes developing an understanding of international grading systems.
•Engage in an application review process for five months of a calendar year. Fulfill application reading goals on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.

3. Execution of daily on-campus recruitment strategies.

•Public presentation of information sessions to large and small groups of campus visitors, including use of PowerPoint and video tools.
•Engage in individual interviews with prospective students as assigned.
•Interaction with a variety of internal campus constituents during open houses and admitted student events.

4. Assignment to any number of office projects, including those associated with marketing/communications, technology, campus visitation, alumni volunteers, student volunteers, and/or transfer/international admissions.

•Ownership of implementing specific actions and tactics to carry out the strategies developed by senior staff designed to appeal to prospective students – first-year and transfer – according to an annual calendar.
•Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible as duties are assigned across a number of admissions-sponsored recruitment initiatives: annual open houses, weekend visitation and campus fly-in programs, alumni engagement, and admitted student receptions.
•Contribute to Admissions marketing/communications.

Variable shifts/schedule

This position is responsible for driving University-owned vehicles as a routine function, therefore a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record is required

This position works with minors      

The duties of this position may allow the employee to work partially remote as deemed appropriate by their supervisor 

Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience

One to three years of related work experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
