Salary

Classification Range $16.50 - $24.00 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.50.

Work Schedule

Available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. up to 20 hours per week. 

The exact Schedule will be determined by the Community and Business Relations Strategist

Job Summary

The Student Assistant with Federal Work Study will assist the H&SS Community and Business Relations Strategist with the Passage to the Future program. Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skills. 

Under the direction of the Community and Business Relations Strategist, the Student Assistant will assist and participate in building and growing relationships with key members of the Passage to the Future (PTTF) program community, including students, alumni, faculty, department chairs, advisory board members and PTTF Ambassadors.

The Student Assistant will assist Staff in key performance indicators, including growing the program system-wide and expanding internship opportunities in Washington DC, by assisting in all activities and events, alumni relationships, and inter-campus promotion and outreach.

Duties include:

- Assist with maintaining and updating the student's contact information (i.e., email addresses or contact numbers).

- Assisting, Maintaining, and updating the website and social media accounts with the advertisements or announcements of the events (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, PTTF's website).

-Assist with events, including setting up and taking down, creating or preparing brochures/flyers, and other projects that require support.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the CSUF registration process. 
  • Knowledge of CSUF undergraduate General Education requirements.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, use independent judgment, and apply critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with students, faculty, staff.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
