Job Summary
Position Description
The Student Assistant in the College of Business at CSUF plays a supportive role in various advising and student engagement activities. This position is designed to assist in enhancing the student experience through collaborative efforts with advisors and administrative staff. Key Responsibilities Peer Support and Advising Preparation • Provide support with general student inquiries through in-person, phone, email, and virtual platforms. • Support the advisors by following up with students to aid in their academic progress. • Collaborate with the advising team and university resources to connect students with academic support. • Participate in advising projects and campaigns, aiding in student outreach and campaign execution.
Event Support and Student Engagement • Assist in the preparation of key events like New Student Orientation, Experience CSUF: Become a Titan, Commencement, and other student-centered activities throughout the semester. Data Collection • Assist in tracking student cohorts such as enrollment status, degree progress, and advising notes. • Supporting the graduation specialists with data collection.

Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Currently enrolled in a Master’s Program.
Ability to engage students with a supportive, student-centered approach.
Proficient in organizing and analyzing data to inform strategies that improve student outcomes.
Excellent attention to detail, punctuality, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with professionalism in email, phone, and in-person interactions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards with student data.
Good academic standing and eligible for SA employment.

Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
