The Department of Outreach, Recruitment, and Orientation at California State University, Fullerton is committed to guiding prospective students and their families through the information-seeking and enrollment process for both the California State University system and Cal State Fullerton. We provide essential in-person and virtual tailored support services to facilitate a seamless transition to college, not limited to admissions requirements, CSU application workshops, campus tours, and new student orientation. Our personalized assistance aims to promote access to higher education, foster a diverse and inclusive community, and provide a foundation for student success.

 

Cal State Fullerton's Campus Tours and Visit Programs offer a comprehensive range of opportunities designed to introduce prospective students, families, and community groups to the university's vibrant campus life, academic excellence, and supportive resources. Our programs aim to inspire and inform visitors while providing an authentic Titan experience.

 

Position Summary:

Titan Ambassadors are engaging student assistants who are excited to spread CSUF spirit! Titan Ambassadors lead campus tours that promote and personalize the university to prospective students, their families, and campus visitors. Titan Ambassadors provide information about general admission requirements, academic and campus life, as well as history, traditions, and campus accolades. Additionally, Titan Ambassadors assist staff with panels, hiring committees, and staff special events such as Experience CSUF: Become a Titan, Welcome Week, Fall in Love with Cal State Fullerton, and more! 

 

Duties & Responsibilities of the Position include:

  • Lead campus tours for prospective students, families, visitors, and campus partners

  • Assist in the implementation and execution of campus events such as: Experience CSUF, Welcome Week, Fall in Love with Cal State Fullerton and more

  • Provide presentations on university history, highlights and admission information 

  • Represent CSUF on panels, at events, and other university functions 

  • Greet internal and external campus visitors and respond to in-person inquiries, emails, and phone calls

  • Use a variety of office support technology and systems such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Zoom, Dropbox, and Excel spreadsheet packages to complete assignments

  • Assist Outreach, Recruitment and Orientation staff members on various projects and department events

  • Assist staff with timely responses to office correspondence, handle administrative tasks and other special projects as assigned

  • Optional: Assist with committees like marketing and social media, staff training and mentorship, and event planning within the department. 

  • Optional: Assist with school site visits, including college fairs and other CSUF outreach events

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

 

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the university’s programs, academics, and student involvement opportunities. A comprehensive training program will be provided to ensure familiarity with campus highlights and updates.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact by answering questions about the university. When appropriate, refer guests to relevant campus departments or resources to ensure their needs are met efficiently.

  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, especially when managing academic, personal, and work-related schedules.

  • Remain well-informed about academic programs, student services, organizations, events, and other aspects of campus life to effectively support prospective and current students.

  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 term and cumulative GPA at California State University, Fullerton.

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors and students by offering friendly, professional, and helpful service at all times.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team while also showing the ability to take initiative and complete tasks independently when needed.

  • Possess excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills to engage comfortably with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Be available to work on select weekends (specific dates provided in advance).

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled CSUF student in good academic standing, meaning not on academic probation, continued probation, or academic dismissal.

  • Must be available 10-15 hours during the work week (Monday-Friday) and specifically, Fridays Between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm to attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings (2 hours).

  • Enrolled in 5 units or less during the summer term. Students enrolled in more than 5 units during the summer will be automatically ineligible.

  • Must be available for training August 11th-15th for required all-staff training, as well as the  August 18th-29th for periodic training and tour shadowing. 

  • Must be available to work 3 Saturdays for tours & special events.

      • Saturday, August 23rd, 2025

      • Saturday, October 25th, 2025

      • Saturday, April 11th, 2026

  • This position may involve opportunities to travel to school sites. Candidates must possess and maintain a current valid Driver's License if they wish to travel.

  • Must be a student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
