Will have the primary responsibility of providing educational therapy services to students at school site.
The educational therapist will be responsible for providing educational therapy services to students at identified school sites. In addition to serving as a direct service provider, the educational therapist will coordinate and supervise services provided by educational therapy interns, CSUN students enrolled in their final fieldwork experience. In this role, the educational therapist will onboard interns at their school sites, orienting them to the processes and procedures for working in a school-based program. The individual will conduct an initial intake interview with referred students/families and be responsible for the assignment of students to educational therapy interns. The educational therapist will supervise the services provided by interns, overseeing all assessment procedures, and reviewing and providing feedback on their treatment plans and final reports.
Preferred Board Certified Educational Therapist with membership in the Association of Educational Therapists with two years-experience providing school based services educational therapy services to children and youth.
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities
Must demonstrate history of providing services to children and youth. Knowledge of educational therapy assessments and interventions, legal and ethical requirements in the provision of services to minors and youth. An acceptance and respect for cultural diversity in all its forms, including ethnicity, sexual orientation, abilities, and religious backgrounds and an ability to work collaboratively in an ethnically linguistically, and culturally diverse environment. Must present themselves in a professional manner. Thorough knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and possess excellent written, communication and organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work is required; possess computer literacy (email, word and excel). Must be able to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from direct service staff, supervisors and managers.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).
The anticipated hiring range: $97.93 per hour
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO PASS A THOROUGH DEPARTMENT (BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND LIVE SCAN).
Per CSUN/TUC Mandate, the candidate will be required to show proof of COVID 19 vaccination including booster.
