Yeshiva University announces its proposed new DDS program and is hiring a new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today’s dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The school plans to provide a unique 36 month dental education program through an innovative “Block” style curriculum which will ensures in-depth learning and understanding. The Associate Dean for Dental Science Education at Yeshiva University’s College of Dental Medicine will lead and oversee the Dental Science curriculum, ensuring rigorous, hands-on training that prepares students for clinical practice. This role is responsible for managing the pre-clinical laboratory operations, leading and supporting all pre-clinical faculty that deliver the pre-clinical curriculum, supervising the transfer of this curriculum into clinical practice, and developing teaching methodologies that align with the dental school’s academic standards and mission. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Associate Dean will collaborate with academic leaders and faculty to foster a comprehensive, innovative learning environment that builds essential skills in dentistry.

Position Responsibilities: |
- Pre-clinical Curriculum Development: Design, implement, and oversight of the pre-clinical curriculum and faculty to ensure it equips students with foundational skills in dental patient care.
- Sim Laboratory Operations Management: Oversee daily faculty and staff operations in pre-clinical laboratories, ensuring safety, functionality, and resource availability to support effective training.
- Faculty Support and Development: Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement best practices in pre-clinical instruction, including new teaching techniques and methodologies.
- Student Skill Assessment: Develop and administer assessment tools to evaluate student performance and proficiency in pre-clinical skills, providing feedback to support student growth.
- Allocation and Budget Management: Manage the budget for pre-clinical operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, equipment maintenance, and procurement aligned with program needs.
- Compliance and Safety Standards: Ensure pre-clinical laboratories comply with university and regulatory standards for safety, cleanliness, and equipment use.
- Curriculum Integration: Work closely with the Associate Dean for Clinical Practice and other academic leaders to integrate pre-clinical training with the broader curriculum, supporting students’ training in clinical settings. This includes the rotation of clinical faculty into the pre clinic and vice versa, Thus establishing a single clinical standard of care for all.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identify opportunities for curriculum enhancement, technological integration, and innovative practices to elevate pre-clinical education and training.

Experience & Education Background: |
- DDS/DMD degree with extensive experience in preclinical or clinical education
- At least 5 years in a leadership role

Skills & Competencies: |
- Leadership in Education and Training: Proven leadership in dental education or a related field, with experience in working with students, and academic leaders.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess student progress, resolve operational challenges, and make data-informed decisions that enhance educational outcomes.
