Position Summary:      

Yeshiva University announces its proposed new DDS program and is hiring a new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today’s dental thought leaders and master clinicians.  The school plans to provide a unique 36-month dental education program through an innovative “Block” style curriculum, which will ensure in-depth learning and understanding.  Please join this new and innovative proposed DDS program.

The Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the radiology program, ensuring excellence in clinical training, patient care, and research. This role is responsible for integrating radiologic principles and technologies into the curriculum, advancing diagnostic competencies, and promoting evidence-based practices. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Clinical Practice, the Director will collaborate with faculty, students, and clinical staff to establish a comprehensive program that prepares students for advanced radiologic practice and enhances patient outcomes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development and Oversight: Design, implement, and evaluate the radiology curriculum, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and integration into the broader dental school program.
  • Clinical Training and Supervision: Provide clinical oversight for radiologic training, guiding students in diagnostic imaging techniques, interpretation, and integration into treatment planning.
  • Technology and Equipment Management: Oversee the allocation, maintenance, and acquisition of radiologic equipment, ensuring efficiency, safety, and alignment with industry standards.
  • Patient Care and Diagnostic Standards: Develop and maintain protocols for radiologic procedures, emphasizing accuracy, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
  • Faculty and Student Mentorship: Mentor and support faculty and students in radiology, fostering professional growth and academic success.
  • Research and Innovation: Promote and support research initiatives in radiology, integrating advancements in imaging technologies into clinical practices and education.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure radiology practices meet regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to integrate radiology into interdisciplinary care and comprehensive treatment planning.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution, with advanced training or certification in Radiology.
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited postgraduate program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR).
  • Eligible for dental licensure in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical radiologic practice and dental education, including curriculum development. 
  • Extensive experience in radiologic practice, clinical teaching, and curriculum development within a dental school or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the predoctoral or postdoctoral level.
  • Preferred: Advanced academic degree (e.g., MS, MEd, PhD) in radiologic science, education, or related discipline.

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate with academic and clinical teams, promoting teamwork and interdisciplinary care.
  • Compliance and Safety Standards: Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards in radiologic practice and education.
