The Director leads in setting the high-level strategy for career management services and employer relations, overseeing individualized career support, cultivating relationships with potential employers to help establish a recruiting pipeline, and developing programming that supports Climate School students and alumni as they explore career paths and prepare for work or continuing education. Initially, this position will support students and alumni from the MA in Climate and Society program; the role is expected to expand and adapt to support other education programs at the Climate School as the degree and certificate portfolio grows. The incumbent reports to the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid and provides assistance with financial planning and administration, human resources, strategic initiatives, project planning, unit priorities, and the overall operations of the functional team. The Director will be a member of the Enrollment Group management team and will collaborate with the team to provide administrative and financial leadership for the Enrollment Group (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Visitors Center). The Director will also hold a joint reporting relationship to the Columbia College Office of the Dean via the Associate Dean, Planning and Information Systems and work closely with the College’s shared services teams to provide quality core administrative functions so that the Enrollment Group can focus on its mission. This work will be carried out with the premise of shared accountability for the effective and efficient use of the College’s resources.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning, the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives serves as a centralized knowledge resource for Columbia Business School’s Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) department and the Centers, Programs and Institutes (CPI) to elevate constituent engagement, philanthropy, and donor stewardship. As a member of the Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) department, this position is the liaison between DAR and CPIs, providing high-level fundraising support and coordination to help CPIs meet their fundraising and engagement objectives.
