Plant Operator (Backhoe Loader)

The role:  

To support our busy workforce on a local road project around Newcastle, our Infrastructure business is looking to appoint an experienced Backhoe Operator. We have a fresh machine on our way very soon, and we need a capable set of hands to join our Wollambi Road Upgrade project team out in Cessnock.

This role requires experience operating a Backhoe Loader, as well as experiencing operating and working in live civil environments.

  • Ensure that the schedule of tasks assigned by the Site Supervisor daily is undertaken efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of plant and ensure that it is fueled and ready to operate the next day before leaving work each day.
  • Attend relevant training programs approved by senior management.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage own time to achieve targets within a set timetable.

  • Mandatory experience operating a Backhoe Loader.
  • A safety-orientated working attitude.
  • Own transport to and from job sites.
