About You and the Role
We can’t wait for you to join our team as a Senior Primary Electrical Engineer and bring your fresh perspective to the team. Entura are growing our teams to support our exciting pipeline of projects. We are seeking a Senior Primary Electrical Engineer to be part of our Primary and Transmission Engineering team.
You will play a core role in the technical delivery and development of an effective and experienced team delivering design and specialised engineering advice in the renewables and power utilities sectors.
Preferred experience for the role includes the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience
- Experience in some of the following:

- Substation Primary equipment specifications and plant layouts 11kV to 500kV
- Electrical Balance of Plant (BoP) design for Solar, Wind and BESS projects
- Earthing system design, testing and analysis
- HV Cable design
- Industrial electrical design
- HV and LV distribution design
- Arc flash
- Insulation coordination
- Lightning protection system design, and
- EMF studies.
- Previous experience in an engineering design consultancy environment.
- Ability to solve complex technical and operational problems, either through a systematic approach or innovation.
- Client and project management.
The role is based in our Tasmanian office however flexible work arrangements would be considered such as remote work from home. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
