About the role:

The Lead, Infrastructure & Asset Planning is a responsible for delivery, management and optimisation of Deakin’s physical and digital infrastructure assets. The role supports the fulfillment of both current and future infrastructure needs in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.

The Lead, Infrastructure & Asset Planning will adopt a customer-centric approach to enhance the customer experience by providing integrated physical and digital infrastructure, projects, and services to deliver seamless, impactful solutions. The role will interact with external stakeholders/vendors and university representatives to provide solutions and advice related to project priorities and requirements.

As Lead, Infrastructure & Asset Planning, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of effective and efficient management of the lifecycle of key infrastructure assets, supporting the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning processes. Analyse current infrastructure capacity to ensure resources meet ongoing demands.
  • Lead data capture for physical and digital assets, developing solutions and processes for ensuring data quality and supporting meaningful use in operational and strategic decision making.
  • Support capital planning efforts for infrastructure investments, ensuring projects align with budget constraints and assist in the implementation of long-term financial strategies.
  • Ensure all solutions and assets are appropriately integrated, designed, developed, optimised and maintained to deliver appropriate business outcomes and superior digital experiences.
  • Implement and follow asset management best practices, including tracking and reporting on asset performance. Prepare reports and updates on infrastructure upgrades and KPIs for internal stakeholders.

What you will bring:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in development, implementation, and management of projects within an agreed timeframe.
  • Experience and sound knowledge of infrastructure assets, planning, and working in either a physical or digital infrastructure environment.
