About the role:
The Project Officer provides high-level support across a broad range of project functions and responsibilities, including key operational functions such as reporting, finance and curriculum management and assisting with planning and tracking of both specific initiatives and overall team activities of the Lifelong Learning team.
Lifelong Learning is focused on both operational management and innovation in short form learning at Deakin, using a holistic approach to deliver and improve lifelong learning and career development experiences that strengthen Deakin’s brand worldwide.
The incumbent will focus on continuous improvement to support the delivery of high-quality service and products of short courses for staff and students. They will also be responsible for effectively managing the outputs of interconnected key activities and deliverables across various short form learning initiatives including stackable short courses and REACH industry upskilling. The Project Officer will collaborate with platform and EdTech partners to ensure effective management of annual planning, progress and reviews.
As a Project Officer, you will:
- Coordinate and manage the Lifelong Learning tasks such as planning, monitoring and reporting on progress, milestones and resource utilisation, ensuring project requirements are met.
- Liaise with all team members and project stakeholders to provide effective project administrative support - maintenance of project management systems and development of any relevant documentation for the assigned teams as required.
- Develop and implement practical and accessible solutions, based on the research team or stakeholder needs.
- Monitor extensive communication tools and channels and coordinate resolutions to student and staff queries in accurate and timely manner through internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and coordinate implementation of streamlined processes to ensure the successful forward planning for timely and efficient key project and administrative deliverables.
- Actively participate and initiate continuous improvement activities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and systems.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and procedures.
