The role:
This position coordinates and supports the development, evaluation and delivery of effective and engaging Health and Safety training across the University that aligns with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislations, regulation and standards to support a safe work environment for staff and students.
As an Officer you will:
- Coordinate the development and ongoing evaluation of effective and engaging Health and Safety Training for staff and students in collaboration with the Manager, Health and Safety Systems and Engagement
- Contribute to the delivery of Health and Safety Training in collaboration with other members of the Health and Safety team
- Coordinate Deakin’s overarching Health and Safety Training framework, including a Training Needs Analysis to identify competency gaps and provide evidence-based recommendations to enhance the training program
- Establish learning objectives that align with the identified training needs, and develop a comprehensive training plan that outlines the priority modules/topics, learning activities, and assessment methods
- Contribute to the scheduling, coordination and promotion of Health and Safety Training courses and programs across the University
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety Training; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in Occupational Health and Safety, education and training or other related disciplines
- Certificate IV qualification in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Working with Children’s Check (Employee) or willing to obtain
