About this role:

The Coordinator, Mechanical Services and Automation is responsible for ensuring compliance, reduction in breakdowns and the prioritisation of critical areas. The role will support the development of all maintenance service contracts under its control, including contract development, standardisation and gap analysis.

As a Coordinator, Mechanical Services and Automation, you will:

  • Support the effective and innovative use of plant and automation systems, and design/implement control integration on existing plant.
  • Communicate and operate inclusively, while positively influencing direction and ensuring consistent delivery across multiple campuses, teams, and contractors.
  • Devise, implement, and manage maintenance strategies to ensure success in delivering preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across all campuses.
  • Tailor maintenance programs to reduce breakdowns and work requests, with a focus on critical areas.
  • Develop and execute service contract strategies to strengthen preventative maintenance, improve asset lifecycles, and reduce reactive maintenance costs.
  • Provide specialist advice, review building automation and HVAC systems, and participate in a 24/7 team roster to address faults and emergencies on campus.  

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A degree with substantial relevant experience, or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant experience operating building automation systems, HVAC systems, and mechanical plant, including control systems related to building automation.
  • Extensive experience in the tertiary sector or large organisations, with a focus on stakeholder management (internal and external) and contract management.
  • ‘E’ Class electrical licence and/or refrigeration/air conditioning mechanical qualification, along with relevant experience in a mechanical services field.
  • Significant and relevant experience in building automation systems, particularly in diagnostics and maintenance.
