The Opportunity
Joining the team as a Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of one of our three Mental Health Units. We currently have 77 beds that are committed to caring for patients admitted for mental health treatment. We offer an extensive group therapy program and clinical nursing care to all our patients during their inpatient stay. We also offer treatments and support through services such as ECT, TMS and Day Programs.
This role will see you:
- Be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources
- Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team
- Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes
- Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
You’ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to ensuring our patients receive holistic individualised care.
Skills and Experience
You thrive on problem solving, fostering a positive and supportive culture, and providing dedicated and specialised advice to your team members.
You will also demonstrate:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in acute care environment
- Demonstrated extensive clinical skills and experience within mental health nursing
- Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff
- Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded
- Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of outcomes
- WHS responsibility and leadership in risk minimisation
- Ongoing activity analysis
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and experience in implementing sustainable change.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
