We are seeking a Patient Transport Officer to join our team!
In this vital role, you will help ensure a safe, efficient and supportive environment for patients, staff and Visiting Medical Practitioners. You will play a key role in the smooth movement of patients throughout the hospital, local network and to other medical facilities within the metro area.
Your duties in this role will involve, but are not limited to:
- Deliver respectful, patient-focused service
- Manoeuver stretchers in and out of the transport vehicle
- Assess patient for appropriate method of transfer either by wheelchair or stretcher
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of patient flow within the hospital
- Maintain patient and material manual handling competency
- Check and replace gas and oxygen cylinders as needed in transport vehicle
- Removes rubbish and soiled linen
- Cleans transport vehicle and equipment and completes all vehicle checks as required
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated individual who brings a client-first attitude with a desire to assist our staff and patients in obtaining the best possible outcomes.
You will also bring:
- Certificate III in Health Services /Aged Care or equivalent desirable
- Flexibility to work across a Monday to Friday roster is essential for this role.
- Knowledge in the areas of Manual Handling, Occupational Safety and Health practices, Infection Control and Housekeeping Protocols, and Usage of cleaning equipment
- Ability to perform a physically demanding role.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively following directions.
Candidates with relevant experience gained within the health industry will be highly regarded for this role.
Remuneration
On offer is base hourly rate of $28.74 + superannuation + applicable penalty rates, based on experience level and qualifications.

Requirements
- Must provide or obtain a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
