Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position is responsible for managing and improving all internal business operations, overseeing employee activity and ensuring a department is on track to meet its financial goals. Develop annual scope of work and manage progress throughout the year. Takes on special projects and coordinates completion.

Department Overview:

Programs in the Center for Educational Opportunities serve pre-college and college students, supporting their college access and success. The Center is housed in the College of Education, which engages in our vision for excellence through award-winning educator preparation, graduate and doctoral programs, meaningful research, and in building strong community partnerships. The College of Education offers programs from undergraduate to doctoral, providing a lifetime of professional growth in education fields, including degrees leading to teacher and administrator certification.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. works independently with general supervision; exercises judgement within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:

● Supervises development and implementation of business forms, documents and web forms. Develops, modifies, and implements policies, rules, and procedures.
● Directs the reporting functions of the unit. May serve as the lead for special projects as assigned. Establishes and maintains internal policies and procedures for administrative activities. Implements work plans and initiatives.
● Creates and manages budget projections, analyzing revenue and expenditures and other funds. Oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities.
● Collaborates with staff and faculty and other administrative units to identify opportunities and develop solutions to problems and issues.
● Frequently handles sensitive and/or confidential issues.
● May supervise and direct the work of others
● Research and analyze data for accuracy, trends, and variances to ensure acceptable business practices, procedures and compliance have been followed.
● May perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and anticipate needs.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong interpersonal skills.
● Ability to efficiently follow and implement regulations, policies, and procedures.
● Experience researching and analyzing financial and other reports and compiling information.
● Knowledge of project development and management.
● Ability to perform a wide range of duties and tasks.
● Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with staff.
● Experience supporting different groups of people and prioritizing the needs of each.
● Ability to think analytically and critically.
● Familiarity with Boise State financial and/or HR processes.
● Experience working with and knowledge of sponsored research projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

● 2+ years of experience as a Boise State employee, using financial and HR processes.
● Experience working with and knowledge of US Department of Education grants.
● Extensive budgetary tracking and/or management experience.
● Experience in project management.
● Progressive supervisory experience and demonstrated skill.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is $60,673.60 to $69,000 annually and is commensurate with experience. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):
