Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position manages maintenance activities within required deadlines and responds to the campus community's requests for maintenance while developing strategies and methods for automated system improvements.

This position may have the opportunity to work remotely, where all work is performed from an alternative work location, either within or outside the state of Idaho. Relocation reimbursement is not available for this position. Candidates in this role must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Mountain Time), providing real-time support through Zoom, chat, and email while also completing assigned duties based on priorities.

The Systems team is a crew of creative, solution-oriented professionals dedicated to architecting robust technological answers to the division's operational hurdles. We leverage a diverse toolkit of enterprise systems to ensure our internal partners have the data and automated workflows needed to prioritize student success. We believe in the force multiplier of smart software, and we’re looking for a Business Systems Analyst who shares our passion for shaping the future of higher education through technical excellence, precise documentation, and collaborative problem-solving.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and /or support employees.

Essential Functions:

● Participates in software and integration testing; reviews, analyzes and documents test results and recommends changes to achieve desired results. Reviews new functionality and communicates and trains other system users.
● Analyze and review application systems modules and documentation to ensure applications are properly developed and implemented into production according with department standards and customer requirements, maintain the development and production environments, run processes, and assist developers in diagnosing production problems.
● Create and design queries of data, collaborate with other team members and users to identify problem areas and be proactive in recommending solutions to problems. Participate in group projects or in one-to-one meetings with client users to design, test, and train in the specific applications and improve their skills in systems analysis.
● Maintain and organize the backlog of pending system enhancements and defects to facilitate informed prioritization decisions.
● Serve as a functional representative during technical design discussions to ensure that solutions remain user-friendly and intuitive for staff.
● Proactively monitor system logs and user activity to identify potential technical errors or recurring training gaps among the staff.
● Manage data integrity efforts, including bulk data imports and exports and the generation of ad-hoc operational reports for divisional staff.
● Draft communication and prepare training resources to support the rollout of new system features and updates.
● Execute initial triage for user-reported issues, resolving routine inquiries such as access problems and basic report assistance.
● Facilitate discovery sessions with stakeholders to document current workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements within supported applications.
● May perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Ability to adapt to changing workplace technology
● Highly organized, able to work effectively across organizational boundaries
● Knowledge of systems analysis and operating system environments
● Ability to develop technical documentation such as job recovery procedures, IT standards, or a data dictionary

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience, or equivalent/relevant/progressive professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

● At least 3+ years of experience performing functional requirements gathering, documentation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) within a higher education or enterprise software environment.
● At least 2+ years of experience configuring and managing low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Quickbase) or enterprise student systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Slate).
● At least 2+ years of experience facilitating discovery sessions and documenting complex current and future state business processes for multi-departmental stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits:
