Laker Success & First Generation Coordinator in Michigan
SUMMARY Reporting to the Senior Director of Student Affairs, the Laker Success & First-Generation Coordinator will support student success initiatives that foster community, leadership, life skills, and academic achievement, with a particular focus on students who are underrepresented academically and/or economically. The Coordinator will advocate for students, collaborate with faculty and staff, and develop intentional programming that promotes personal growth, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging at Lake Superior State University. The Coordinator will also manage the Martin Luther King, Jr. - César Chávez - Rosa Parks (KCP) grant budget, hire, train, supervise, and lead a team of Laker Success Coaches, and partner with campus colleagues to develop engagement opportunities. In its First-Generation Coordinator capacity, the position will develop and coordinate initiatives to improve the persistence, retention, and post-graduation success of first-generation students. This includes implementing targeted interventions, coordinating programming, and fostering partnerships across campus to build an inclusive and supportive environment for first-generation students and their families.
