At LCRA, we are seeking two dedicated and driven individuals to join our Telecom team as a Fiber Splicer Field Technician II! We are currently offering projects positions crucial to realizing our fiber growth strategy. The key duties of this role encompass fiber installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance, with a specific emphasis on OPGW and loose tube fiber in a substation setting. You will be trusted to:
- Perform work related to maintaining the organization-owned communications system and facilities (e.g., fiber optic network installed on electric transmission or delivery lines, microwave). Schedule regular and emergency maintenance, testing and inspecting all telecommunications facilities and equipment. Develop a long-term plan for communications facilities, budgets and equipment requirements.
You qualify with:
- Three or more years of experience in one or more of the following networking technologies: WAN – MPLS, LAN – Route/Switch, DWDM, RF/Microwave Radio, 700/900MHz Trunked Radio (LMR) and/or LTE, fiber splicing or other relevant experience.
