About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Leader to join the Service Strategy leadership team within the Service Futures portfolio at Melbourne Water. The Service Strategy purpose is 'to bring to life Melbourne Water’s vision through setting the medium to long-term horizon for Melbourne Water’s strategies and goals'.

Reporting into the General Manager Service Strategy you will be responsible for leading the business through the development and implementation of the Regional Catchment Strategy and Healthy Waterways Strategy and set the standards for environmental and biodiversity protection on Melbourne Water’s land and beyond.

You will lead the development of stormwater planning to provide long-term objectives and strategies for managing stormwater to ensure the achievement of improved benefits for the community and environment with a stormwater program that informs decisions for the prioritisation and delivery of stormwater solutions that support the achievement of the Sustainable Water Strategy & Integrated Water Management plans.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement with 50% days in our 990 La Trobe Street head office or out at one of our operational sites.

About You:

  • Extensive experience in strategic planning in the water, natural resources or equivalent industry.
  • Tertiary qualification in Science, Ecology, Botany, Biodiversity, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience building, developing and leading high performing teams.
  • High energy to take action and drive business results.
  • Ability to lead change and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Proven consultation, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check.
