Who We Are

In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.

As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, we care for water, life and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.

Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet or kayak down the Yarra, we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.

If you value making it count, diving in with curiosity, and doing what’s right, you're in the right place.

About The Role

Reporting to the Program Manager, OT Maintenance & Project Delivery, this is a full-time, permanent role within the Asset Knowledge & Technology team.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, define and coordinate interdependent scope delivered by others (e.g. IT providers, SCADA teams) to enable successful OTMPD project delivery.
  • Maintain strong engagement with OT Service Providers, project sponsors, governance committees, and relevant internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery and operational handovers (e.g. operators, maintenance providers).
  • Ensure compliance requirements for control system projects are met and that external providers deliver agreed project outcomes.
  • Identify, manage and escalate project risks and issues to sponsors and governance committees as required.
  • Manage monthly financial, scheduling and performance reporting for OT projects.
  • Monitor and manage Service Provider performance in the delivery of OT projects and maintenance services.
  • Review and approve Service Provider contractual claims (including variations), manage disputes, and escalate issues to appropriate governance and steering committees where required.
  • Identify, lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to promote best-practice project and program delivery.

About You

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Operational Technology (OT), preferably within infrastructure, industrial, telecommunications or utilities environments.
  • Highly developed project management capability, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and stakeholder management.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Significant experience in industrial and/or construction project delivery, including contract and change management.
  • A competency-based project management certification (e.g. PMP, AIPM, PRINCE2) is desirable.
  • Proven experience managing Service Providers, including performance, contract and claims management.
  • Experience with asset management systems such as Maximo or SAP (desirable).
  • Technical credibility as an OT Project Manager, with the ability to operate effectively in complex, contractor-heavy environments and confidently manage engineers and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
  • A valid Victorian Driver Licence.
