The Project

The Waikeria Prison Development PPP project is $850 million construction project based in the heart of the Waikato. This project will provide leading edge facilities to the Department of Corrections and will deliver accommodation along with a secure mental health unit providing additional care for prisoners.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Commercial Director to join our team in Waikeria.

In this role, you'll see yourself responsible for the contract and commercial management of our project team to ensure works are completed within budgets and delivered on time.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Provide proactive commercial leadership to the project to completion.
• Ensure all aspects of commercial performance are proactively managed, and reported, to a strategy agreed with the Project Director.
• Ensure all management and governance reporting accurately reflects actual performance/status.
• Ensures visibility to Early Warnings and Pending Change and highlights critical areas requiring attention.
• Collaborate with other Commercial Managers and the Infrastructure Commercial Services team to ensure risk and opportunity for efficiency and cost savings within the programme is actively managed, and synergies maximised and projects / programme interfaces managed.

Your profile

• 15+ years’ experience delivering commercial outcomes for large construction / infrastructure projects
• 5+ years’ experience leading teams of Quantity Surveyors
• Excellent senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage at and exec level.

As the successful candidate you will need to be a self-starter who is highly motivated, well organised and committed to the highest possible work standards. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and consultants.
