The QLD/PNG Business Unit is seeking a highly experienced Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Director to support upcoming large complex infrastructure projects based in Brisbane.
As SHEQ Director, you will demonstrate a personal commitment to the CPB Contractors ONE HSE Culture Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations
You will also be responsible for:
- Advising and supporting project senior management in the consistent practical application of SHEQ strategies at a project level
- Ensuring accurate and up to date documentation and information relating to SHEQ issues and training is collected, reported, disseminated and stored in a manner that improves safety communication
- Developing Project SHEQ strategies and tactics to respond to incident, critical risk review, audits, inspections task observations and trends
- Developing and enforcing standards to ensure projects comply with SHEQ regulatory and governance requirements
- Keeping abreast of SHEQ legislation, best practice and tools and leveraging these to facilitate contemporary safety and health practices across the BU.
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Bachelor’s degree or Masters in WHS, OHS or equivalent
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an industry related field, having held senior appointments
- Lead Auditor in OHS / Environmental or Quality Management System
- ICAM Investigation training, and a high level of skill in conducting and interpreting audits and reviews
- A demonstrated track record of genuine leadership that drives all facets of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) performance
- Proven examples of initiatives that have developed and improved SHEQ culture
- A competency in the management SHEQ systems with proven examples of your capability in system improvement
- Experience in leading diverse functional teams
- The ability to positively engage with project personnel and relevant Business Unit personnel.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to trend data and make recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team
