The Project

CPB Contractors, in Alliance partnership with Sedgman, SC Joint Venture (SCJV) has been selected by BHP to undertake the Western Ridge Crusher Project, involving construction of a new primary crusher, a 12-kilometre overland conveyor, radial stacker, and associated stockpiling systems, with a capacity of 30Mtpa. The Project is located on Nyiyaparli Country, approximately 21 Kilometres southwest of Newman, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.  Works are commencing now and will go through until mid-2026.

Your Opportunity

CPB Contactors are currently looking to engage a qualified & experienced QC/QA Inspector – E&I for a major BHP Western Ridge Crusher Project based in Newman. This role will be FIFO from Perth working 14 days on, 7 days off, Fly in Fly out roster.  This is a great opportunity to join construction industry leader.

 Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • CSWIP 3.1/ and NACE 2 Qualified
  • Minimum 10 Years of experience in Electrical and Instrumentation inspection or demonstrated equivalency of knowledge and education.
  • Experience with installation testing and commissioning of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation in large-scale construction field covering QC functions.
  • Inspect electrical and instrumentation installations for compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, codes and standards.
  • Ensure the quality of the work in accordance with the Quality Management Plan, approved ITPs, and procedures.
  • Perform witness, inspection & surveillance checks and continually assess Subcontractor QC performance.
  • Review and comment on Subcontractor procedures inspection and & test plans, and MDR.
  • Verify proper installation, functionality, and operational status of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including wiring, panels, sensors, controllers, and monitoring devices.
  • Conduct inspections during testing phases, including electrical systems (e.g., circuits, transformers, switchgear) and instrumentation (e.g., flow meters, pressure sensors, control valves).
  • Calibrate and validate instruments, including sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
  • Maintain and submit detailed inspection and testing records, including non-compliance and follow-up reports.
  • Promote on-site safety by enforcing safety protocols and conducting hazard assessments.
  • Resolve installation and performance issues with project engineers and contractors.
  • Verify that all materials and equipment meet quality and performance standards upon delivery and installation..
  • Report directly to the Quality Manager and produce weekly reports.
  • Experience Inspection test report Verification in CCMS (Hexagon) is preferable.
  • Willingness to work on 14 days on, 7 days off, Fly in Fly out roster.
