The Project

NEWest Alliance is currently undertaking the construction of both the Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link. These important infrastructure projects will safely deliver next-generation infrastructure that better connect people and transform communities.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Design Coordinator for NEWest Alliance will act as the interface between construction and design teams. You will contribute to the design team’s delivery of robust and cost-effective designs for works while ensuring that design scope and requirements, budget and programme are met. This is a great opportunity with an immediate start with Australia’s leading construction contractor on this iconic rail infrastructure project in Perth.

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • Experience in a design environment, ability to review design documentation to make improvements, good understanding of the design delivery process, and the use of various design software, 3D design models, methods of calculation etc.
  • Candidates with a minimum of 5-10 years of civil or rail design experience are preferred
  • Candidates with design experience in civil and structural temporary works design are preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate the resolution of any design issues from a technical and/or construction perspective.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to engage stakeholders and enable the effective delivery of project design services.
  • Ability to drive performance within the design process to ensure design documentation is completed on time and fully integrated with reviewer’s feedback.
  • Monitor any design issues which may arise out of defect rectification, value engineering or interface with external bodies
