Aurizon has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing to Pay Business Analyst with previous SAP experience to join the team. This role will provide detailed insights and strategic analysis around Procure to Pay process improvement and operational excellence, assisting transformational and process re-engineering activities and support the development of training and handover materials to operationalise solutions and improvements to process and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ideate, support and deliver process improvement opportunities and digital efficiencies within the P2P scope, utilising a variety of different automation technologies, analytics dashboards and reporting tools.
  2. Identify efficiencies and optimisation opportunities within system processes as defined by the core ERP functionality.
  3. Support the re-engineering of P2P processes to optimise and standardise through reducing and removing non-standard and exception processes, building capacity and limiting variability.
  4. Gather and interpret functional needs of the P2P operations team, translate into end-to-end solutions using appropriate tools, and operationalise with clear documentation, training and handover.
  5. Represent the P2P function in change programs, both enterprise-wide projects and small initiatives, including creation of data and process flows, documenting and conducting test cases, tracking task completion, identifying risks and issues, and documenting SOPs for BAU handover.
  6. Drive cross-functional collaboration across the business units, IT, Finance and wider team, liaising with multilevel stakeholders as a subject matter expert and advisor on P2P transformation strategy.

About you:

You’re an experienced finance professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for process improvement and problem solving. You’re motivated by the opportunity to shape how an ASX-listed company communicates its progress toward a more sustainable future.

You’ll bring - Technical Skills:

  1. 5+ years of experience in business analysis or similar (mandatory).
  2. Previous experience in using SAP (mandatory).
  3. Previous experience in automation technologies including PowerBI / Power Automate / Excel / RPA (mandatory).
  4. Experience with Ariba, Concur, and other procurement digital platforms (preferred).

Specific Skills:

  1. High level of knowledge in best practice accounts payable and transactional procurement.
  2. Experience in developing automated solutions and end-to-end project delivery
  3. High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  4. High level of negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  5. High level of skill in stakeholder management and mentoring staff, including outsourced partners.
