About the Role

Step into a key frontline leadership role at the heart of our operations. As Operations Supervisor Training, you’ll lead teams across both Antiene and Quirindi building strong relationships, influencing stakeholders, and keeping our people and services moving safely every day.

Due to the nature of the position and the need for close engagement with your teams, this is not a drive-in/drive-out role. Some travel between sites (Antiene and Quirindi) will be required.

We’re looking for a confident, organised, people-focused leader—someone who thrives on coaching others, shaping culture, and lifting performance. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and guide Driver Trainers to make safe, informed decisions and manage risk effectively.
  • Champion safety systems, stop work when unsafe, and lead incident investigations.
  • Set clear expectations, manage performance and development, and facilitate CEMP discussions.
  • Build a high-performing, engaged team and recognise achievements.
  • Foster strong relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Ensure compliance with Aurizon policies, standards and industrial instruments.
  • Review driving methodologies, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to budgets, transformation projects, and local initiatives.

About You

You’re a confident and capable supervisor with a passion for safety and people. You enjoy being organised, staying ahead of the plan, and working closely with your team every day.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • 1–3 years leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with solid understanding of safety tools and processes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and coaching skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, set direction, and manage performance.
  • Willingness to learn and apply knowledge of train handling, safe working systems and deployment practices.
  • Confident using computers and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Train driving or rail yard operations experience (optional).
  • C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
