The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking a Indigenous Employment Business Partner to drive our Indigenous employment goals.
This pivotal role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders, supervisors and HR Business Partners to develop and implement innovative strategies to support the retention, development, engagement and career progression of Indigenous employees. In this role you will provide specialist advice to support HR colleagues, Indigenous employees and leaders in managing Indigenous employment matters.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver initiatives from the Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-2025 to improve employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff
- Lead strategic change initiatives and reviews to enhance professional development, career advancement, and retention of Indigenous staff, including coordinating the Indigenous Staff Network
- Provide specialist advice and support to leaders on Indigenous employment matters to ensure effective workforce practices
- Build the capability of the Monash workforce to implement Indigenous employment initiatives and strategies
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in engaging with and supporting Indigenous talent, including working with Indigenous communities
- Proven HR skills with a track record in deploying talent management strategies to achieve business outcomes
- Strong generalist HR skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing others
- Excellent consulting and relationship management skills, with the ability to build strategic relationships and influence senior stakeholders
