The Opportunity
Are you passionate about leading and mentoring a team of librarians? Monash University Library is seeking an Academic Services Lead to drive our strategic research and education services.
In this role you will:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor librarians to develop and deliver strategic research and education services.
- Collaborate with the Managers, Library Services (Education) and (Research) and the broader Academic Services leadership team to support researchers and educators.
- Ensure agile methods and priorities are followed in project development and delivery.
- Act as a conduit between Library Business Partners and Academic Services Librarians, managing the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting agile service teams in delivering key services, projects, and programs.
- Supervising Academic Services Librarians and Librarians, facilitating professional development and performance management.
- Analysing and identifying project deliverables in consultation with Library Business Partners and stakeholders.
- Participating in service design activities and other projects across the library.
- Implementing projects within defined service standards, budgets, and timeframes.
- Fostering an environment of trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
- Building analytics into service design to streamline reporting and maintain performance measures.
- Contributing to achieving the Library's vision and strategy through operational planning and implementation.
- Engaging with professional groups and libraries to ensure initiatives evolve with global trends.
Your success will need your:
- Postgraduate qualifications in librarianship, information management, or education.
- Extensive experience in the higher education sector.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Proven success in project management.
